“One day you’ll realise you were brave and beautiful every single day of your life.” -S.C. Lourie
My VERY favorite part of being an EMDR therapist is the moment when I watch the distortions clear and a person is able to finally see themselves accurately – when they can look at themselves with loving eyes – when they can see that what happened to them was in no way a reflection of what they deserved and did nothing to diminish their worth – and when they can understand that even the behaviors that have held the most shame were adaptations and the bravest, wisest things they could have done at the time to make it through to today!!
Thank you to Butterflies and Pebbles for the beautiful words!!
My open invitation stands for you to join me for the first Module of The EMDR Readiness Course (for free!) – to learn about how EMDR therapy provided by a well-trained, careful practitioner can be modified to treat complex/developmental trauma. The link is above.
The full course is designed to be a source of knowledge – a precursor or adjunct to treatment – to help insure there is what needs to be in place before trauma memory processing can begin safety and effectively.
