“When rain taps against your window like an eager child, it is important to remember that even the world cries- even the sky, which holds everything together, falls apart from time to time.” -Bianca Sparacino
There are some of us who think we should – think we have to – hold it all together all of the time. And there are some of us who think that if we let the tears fall, they will just never stop.
But like the rain, our tears must fall in certain seasons. It is a sort of unburdening, a ritual of cleansing, a saying goodbye and allowing for a time of new growth.
It is raining here today. And it acts as a reminder to me to allow sadness – welcome it even – as a reflection that something has been important to me, something is worth grieving, and that sometimes I must allow what hurts to release in the tears that spill down my cheeks.
I am curious if you resonate with this.

Thank you to Bianca Sparacino for the beautiful words.
I have been told that one of the most powerful modules of the Course is the one on Defenses. The Defense against Feeling Your Feelings is one of those addressed. If you’re curious about learning more about the Course and how EMDR therapy can heal trauma by transforming how memories are stored in the brain – then check out the link above.
